New iPhone Text Editor

6 September 2008 No Comment

Developed by Zac White, OpenClip is a 3rd party application that offers a copy & paste functionality in “supported” iPhone applications. Another 3rd party application MagicPad is exactly what it’s tag-line says it is, “the first rich text editor for the iPhone.” MagicPad does make use of the copy feature, but only while you are editing text in the application itself. OpenClip on the other hand allows you to copy & paste between supported apps. OpenClip works by temporarily storing selected data (”copy,”) and then retrieving it from storage and inputting it into the desired field (”paste.”)

So until Apple decides to incorporate copy & paste into the iPhone, I guess we’ll just have to make do with 3rd party apps such as this one.
