The processor on iPhone 3GS is quiet capable of running Playstation games, and there are few PlayStation titles which can be easily installed and enjoyed.

The following steps will enable Playstation emulator on the iPhone and iPod

  • The iPhone must be jailbroken
  • Search for and install pxs4iphone in Cydia
  • Upload your decompressed ROM images (.ISO, .IMG, .BIN, .Z and .ZNX.) into /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX/
  • Also get “scph1001.bin”. If you don’t find it anywhere, click HERE
  • Start pxs4iphone, select the ROM image, the orientation and whether you need sound
  • Play

Very few PSX games run at their full speed, you will only want to play games like Final Fantasy VII – that is, titles not present on the platform.
