The world’s largest manufacturer of Windows Mobile handset, HTC is going to launch the HTC Click, an Android phone in China. HTC has decided to launch this low end Android phone in China first in the fourth quarter of 2009.
HTC Click is similar to HTC Magic in style and despite dubbed a smartphone the price of HTC Click is very attractive in comparison to the specked up, pricier Hero and Magic.
The idea behind this phone is to gradually enable more people to come into the Android fold. Not everyone can afford a Hero or a Rachael, mind you. So, what we have here is a stripped down smartphone that comes laden with the bare essentials, skis the eye candy and stuff.
Features: The specification has not yet been released but HTC Click will support the WCDMA 3G standard used by the mobile operator China Unicon.
Removable Face: HTC Click will come with detachable front covers that let users change the color of their handset.
Price: Expected to cost around 3,400 yuan in China.
