HTC Touch Pro2 Launching On September 8: Sprint Will Charge $350

Sprint users are set to have a chance to access the latest HTC Touch Pro2 on September 8th. The carrier announced on Monday that it will finally release the HTC Touch Pro2 on September 8 through its Web site and telesales.
The HTC Touch Pro2, the latest and greatest smartphone offering from HTC, runs on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system and offers HTC’s own TouchFLO user interface.
For one thing, the Sprint Touch Pro2 is a combination CDMA/GSM device which runs on Sprint’s 3G network here in the US, and 2G EDGE networks abroad. The device is also loaded with the usual proprietary Sprint software, including Sprint TV, Sprint’s GPS solution, NFL and NASCAR apps and Sprint Music Store.
The features bundled with the HTC Touch Pro2 include a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera, a GPS receiver, 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD card slot, and a 1500 mAh battery.
HTC Touch Pro 2 runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 on a 528 MHz processor from Qualcomm, with 288 MB of RAM. It could make the jump to Windows Mobile 6.5 when this new version is available, but Sprint didn’t commit to that today.
On top of the standard Windows Mobile user interface will be the latest version of HTC’s TouchFLO 3D user interface, which has been designed to make the device easier to use with a fingertip, rather than a stylus.
