Palm Pixi: The Thinnest Phone Yet From Palm

Palm released its thinnest handset yet the Palm Pixi, designed to utilize the full potential of new WebOS operating system from Palm.

Palm Pixi is packed with features mainly aimed at younger consumers, the smartphone will be longer but slimmer than the Pre and will sport a smaller multitouch screen, a full QWERTY keyboard, and a 2-megapixel camera, Palm said.

Exclusively available from Sprint, Palm Pixi will include EV-DO mobile broadband. It will also have Bluetooth, but not Wi-Fi.

Palm Pixi features includes:

  • 2.6-inch, 320-by-400-pixel capacitive touchscreen display
  • 2-megapixel fixed focus camera with LED flash
  • Qwerty keyboard
  • EV-DO mobile broadband
  • integrated GPS
  • 8 GB of internal storage
  • Qualcomm (QCOM) chipset
  • standard 3.5mm headphone jack

The Palm Pre sells for $200 after $100 rebate and Palm Pixi could go for $99.
