Sony Ericsson Equinox Or The Sharapova Phone Comes With Motion Controls And GPS Navigation

The Sony Ericsson Equinox which has been rumored for months, goes on sale tomorrow, October 28, exclusively through T-Mobile.
The Equinox looks like it might make the feature phone fun again though. Just because your phone doesn’t have an app for that doesn’t mean it can’t have some cool features. There are a couple of nice features like Motion controls let you swing the phone to silence calls or alarms, built-in GPS provides turn-by-turn navigation, and an OLED screen on the front signals incoming calls. There’s also an FM radio, music playback, a personal organizer, and lighting schemes that you can customize by color.
The Equinox is a 3G-capable flip phone with a 3.2 megapixel camera. It includes flashing pulse effects that you can assign to five favorite contacts, in Amber, Sapphire, Beryl, Diamond, and Amethyst. It also comes with changing wallpaper schemes.
One of the upsides to a feature phone is that you aren’t obligated to subscribe to an expensive data plan in addition to the monthly service plan from the wireless provider.
The quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) Equinox will be available October 28 for $50 with service.
