Download Cisco’s free iPhone app that can be used to receive more than a dozen security-related information feeds related both to Cisco products and to general security topics.
This free app lets the user keep tabs on the global threat landscap such as new malware signatures, bulletins for how to mitigate against threats, ways to see if particular Web sites are compromised, as well as links to podcasts and videos.
It collects data from Cisco Security Intelligence Operations and delivers it in a friendly format on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Cisco’s SIO maintains a network of 700,000 sensors scattered across important locations throughout the internet, which CNET’s Elinor Mills says are used to build extensive databases of security threats and collate real-time data into alerts about widespread malicious attacks via the web or email.
Until now, to obtain the same type of information it would be necessary to go to the public portions of Cisco?s SIO Web site to locate it.
