With so many mobile app developers are deciding to make apps for Android, it still doesn’t have the same variety and penetration as the iPhone. What Gameloft has decided is sure a very bad sign for Android future.

Gameloft famous for making dozens of well-designed mobile games has told news channels that it has decided to invest less in developing for Android OS. Gameloft’s titles have been much higher earners on Apple’s portable device according to Rochefort, as he revealed “We are selling 400 times more games on iPhone than on Android.” The problem has been Google’s ability to get the phone in customers, as Rochefort stated “Google has not been very good to entice customers to actually buy products.”

Gameloft’s Rochefort complained “It is not as neatly done as on the iPhone. Google has not been very good to entice customers to actually buy products. On Android nobody is making significant revenue,” Rochefort said.

Then you’ve got the low application storage limits found in most Android hardware to date. Even the latest, Motorola’s Droid, only allows for 256 MB of app storage. As Android and Me notes, that rules out a game like Myst, which on the iPhone occupies 727 MB.
