Verizon Wireless and Samsung announced the availability of the Samsung Omnia II, five months later,it’s finally going to hit the market.

Omnia 2 is a WIndows Mobile 6.5 smartphone that can tie in with corporate messaging systems and run mobile version of Microsoft’s mainstream Office applications—plus it’s got a big touch screen and entertainment features to keep users happy when they’re not being productive.

The features which makes Omnia 2 a better choice than Samsung Behold 2 are:

  1. Interface: The Omnia II features a “3D cube” user interface that is an improvement over the Android-powered Samsung Behold II.
  2. On-Screen Keyboard: on-screen keyboard for messaging is one of the first major releases to use Swype technology for the virtual keyboard, and instead of pressing on individual keys, you drag from one key to the next and it predicts what you’re about to type in along the way.

Samsung’s smartphone packs all the features one would expect from a high-end device including Wi-Fi, 3G on Verizon’s EV-DO network, access to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, Bluetooth, and a 5-megapixel camera. Verizon will also be loading the device with its proprietary apps for mobile music, video, navigation, ringtones, and other services.

Verizon plans to charge $200 for this model. Getting this price will require a two-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate, though.

What you don’t mention is it’s bound to be blazing fast, as it’s got the 1GHz Snapdragon processor, which is (around) twice as fast as most other recent smartphones. Zam!
