Xperia X10: Top 5 Features That Makes It Better Than Motorola Droid And HTC Eris

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 With a 1GHz Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm, 4-inch capacitive touch display, an 8.1 megapixel camera, and the lovely Rachael Android UI, has jumped to the top of the Android phones, and has added in a new overlay that’s probably the most comprehensive among other competitors too.
The top 10 fetures that makes Xperia X10 better and different than other Android based phones are:
1) User Interface: The Xperia X10 is an Android 1.6 handset with a considerable UI overhaul. Sony Ericsson has turned the whole thing blue and modded the default interface considerably. Everything from the dialler to the homescreens to the contacts and messasing apps have been reskinned.
The media layout is very similar to the Zune HD’s QuickPlay menu, the homescreen, Instead of just giving you a boring list of Artists, Albums, and Snoooore, it shows Favorites, Recently Added and Recently Played, not-so-coincidentally the exact same options in the Zune HD menu. Below that you get two options from PlayNow, a kind of Pandora-like Sony store, including Top 30 and Recommendations, useful for anyone with a large, frequently-updated media collection.
At the bottom of every screen is a crossbar much like the Zune HD’s, but that one’s legitimate Sony—they pioneered that UI with XMB on PS3 and PSP.
2) 1 GHz Snapdragon Processor: Snapdragon processor is Qualcomm’s new processor, which powers the wafer-thin mega-touchscreen Toshiba TG01. Snapdragon has prompted Qualcomm to invent a new word, ’smartbook’, to label its dream of low-power, super-thin smart phones that are powerful enough to start nudging the netbooks. Snapdragon is a chip with 3G connectivity, enabling devices that’s always on and always connected to the Internet, without a Wi-Fi signal in sight.
3) Mediascape and Timescape: Sony Ericsson has introduced its signature applications Mediascape and Timescape that lets Xperia X10 users to organise everything in their phone in an intuitive way:
- Timescape: manages all your communication with one person in one place. Browse through your conversations the bright way to check out your Facebook(TM), Twitter(TM), photos, emails, and texts all in one go
- Mediascape: is the smart way to get all the music, photos and videos you want from your favorite friends and artists. It accesses content from everywhere – your phone, YouTube(TM), PlayNow(TM)
4) 8.1 megapixel Cybershot quality camera: The Xperia X10 comes with 8.1 megapixel autofocus camera with features like flash, smile shot and face recognition technology.
5) Applications: Sony Ericsson’s open approach gives consumers maximum choice and with the XPERIA(TM) X10, users can download any application that they want direct from a wide variety of stores including PlayNow(TM) and the Android Market(TM), co-creating an experience that is entirely unique to them.
