Amazon’s Kindle ebook reader arriving soon on both RIM’s BlackBerry smart phone and the Mac. The Kindle e-book platform, which allows users to purchase and download books in the digital format from the Amazon.com online store.

Once released on the BlackBerry, it will be the second smartphone with an official Kindle Client after Apple’s iphone. The Kindle for BlackBerry will join the party with competitors such as eReader and Mobipocket as an electronic reader client for the BlackBerry.

The Kindle app for Blackberry would likely use the same format as the iPhone app, which lets you read but not purchase books from it.
