Google gPhone Coming January 2010: Thinner Than iPhone With Weirdly Large Camera

It seems Techcrunch is sure about the coming Google phone as the blog today has again posted one article about gPhone. The blog site is referring to an article as proof that Google is already testing the device with employees around the world.
Google has started giving away these gPhones to its employees, who started tweeting about it last night, and the company had to make an announcement this morning. It seems Google noticed what everyone was talking about the gPhone and decided to chime in, claiming the “Google Phone” handouts are nothing more than a way to test “innovative hardware from a partner with software that runs on Android to experiment with new mobile features.”
The gPhone itself is being built by HTC, with a lot of input from Google. It seems to be a tailored version of the HTC Passion or the related HD2 and might be sold directly to consumers rather than through a carrier. TechCrunch speculates it’s a GSM phone (like the iPhone). That would allow it to be used more places in the world.
Real shots and specs of the device should be dropping at any moment. It is pretty incredible that nothing has been leaked yet actually.
