iPhone 3G Is The Most Used Cell Phone In United States
A recent survey by market research-company Nielsen has revealed that the iPhone 3G has been the most-used mobile phone in the U.S. The iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS accounted for 4% of the U.S. market from January through October.
Research in Motion’s BlackBerry 8300 series, which came in second place with 3.7 percent in rankings measured the top 10 mobile phones in use in the U.S. from January to October 2009.
Apple makes a stunning second figure in the same blog post, this time in a top-ten list of brands accessed from mobile phones. Sadly, the article is a little short on details, so it’s difficult to tell whether the list measures browser access or any kind of network access.
The report also found that 21 percent of households now use mobile phones only, without a landline, and 15 percent of homes have at least one smartphone. In addition, most users pick pre-paid phones because they find the plans to be more candid.
