Jack Dorsey Cell Phone Payment System Square Sends Receipt Via Email Text Message

Jack Dorsey unveiled its website for Square, which will let anyone with a cellphone or iPod become a merchant and accept credit card payments.
Square is a tiny device that plugs into the headphone jack on your iPod Touch or iPhone. Just swipe a credit or debit card to purchase whatever goods or services you desire from the participating business. You can use your finger to sign on the touchscreen, Square will instantly send you a receipt via email or text message.
A select few cafes and small vendors are among Square’s first beta testers. Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea in Venice will be one of the first in Southern California, starting as early as next week.
Dorsey did note that in the future they plan to acknowledge how many times you’ve been to a certain place, and could even offer up deals from the vendors not unlike the Foursquare coupon model, which Dorsey is also an investor in.
