Google Chrome Web Browser Beats Apple Safari: Next Is iPhone

3 January 2010 One Comment

Net Applications, an online metrics firm reports that Google’s browser has beat out Apple’s Safari browser in the month of December.

Google’s Chrome browser has highest ever share with  4.63% of the web browsing market share, and Apple’s Safari at 4.46% that same month. It took 16 months for Google’s Chrome after its release to gain this market share.

Internet Explorer has lost full percentage point in December with a figure of 62.69 per cent market share. Chrome’s December success results due to the fact that the company launched the beta edition for Mac and Linux three weeks ago.

Firefox’s advances against IE have slowed, with the open source browser actually a dropping a tenth of point to settle in at 24.6 per cent – falling tantalizingly short of accounting for a quarter of all surfers for another month.
