Google Nexus After Droids: 5 Reasons For Disaster
Microsoft’s Robbie Bach has rightly pointed out the haste in which Google has released its own phone Nexus One. Microsoft itself is rumored to be close to release it own Windows Mobile 7 based handset but the company officially denies and insists it will be against its policy of offering only OS.
The Google’s fools rush may spell a disaster for its mobile venture and here are the top 5 reasons:
1) Fear Of Handset Makers: Android based handset makers may fear that Google will prioritize its own phone above others and could drive them away from doing future business with the Internet giant.
2) Google Nexus One fatigue: All of the media attention is part of the problem as users will grow tired of being bombarded with Nexus One branding and it will hurt the Android platform overall.
3) Partnering With No 4: Nexus One will run on T-Mobile USA, which has fallen to Number 4 behind the big three carriers.
4) Under developed OS: Despite Android phones getting slicker from a hardware standpoint, the software hasn’t kept up. Android hasn’t evolved enough to reach the iconic status the Apple iPhone has reached.
5) iPhone Look: The Google Nexus One Phone looks like the iPhone and operates in ways similar to the iPhone.
