Google Nexus Now Gets Multitouch: Thanks To Hacker Cyanogen
Google Nexus One browser now gets much needed multitouch but this feature is not from Google but a hack and should be used with caution.
The Google Nexus One is designed by HTC and available on T-Mobile’s network for $180 got some negative feedback due to the lack of multitouch support. A developer or more respectfully a hacker named as Cyanogen has modified the Android 2.1 on Nexus to enable multitouch on the smartphone.
When Google unveiled its Nexus many tech analysts including Daniel Ionescu from PC World expressed their shock for the lacking multitouch feature stating “However, the multitouch hack for the Nexus one enables pinch-to-zoom in the browser and paves the way for gesture use in other apps as well,”. Google has said it may bring the feature in future updates.
Though the hack from Cyanogen enables the feature for the Nexus One browser, it may soon become a part of other applications, such as maps.
