iPhone And Droid Kicks Google Out: Microsoft Bing Rising
Microsoft good old days are back again as Google is busy painting itself villain of the mobile world. The year 2010 started with a month of bad news for Google from Chinese’s government confrontation to Apple and Droid making Bing as a default search option.
The top two strategic blunder that Google made:
1. Launching Nexus: Apple is taking Google as more serious challenger to its mobile business than Microsoft. Apple is now considering to bring Microsoft Bing search as default search engine for the iPhone. Coming to the iPhone as the default search engine will give a huge advantage to Microsoft Bing as there are millions who use iPhone to do daily web searching.
Motorola on the other hand is itself going to punish Google for launching Nexus as in the long run consumers will have to choose between Droid and Nexus. Motorola is providing consumers in China the Baidu search engine as default search engine instead of Google, on phones using running on the Android OS.
2. Confronting with the Chinese: Google’s dispute with the Chinese authority is damaging its image and future business prospects in the world’s second largest economy. A phone project in China which also involved Samsung and China Unicom is now in difficult waters and Google may even have to abandon it altogether. The company is now talking with the Chinese in order to retain its business unit in China even after shutting down its search engine there.

…
I use both Bing and Google search engine and i dont see much difference in their search results. I use google for searching hard to find academic topics and Bing for general search.
