iPhone SlingPlayer 3G Allowed: Watch Your Favorite TV Programs Anywhere Anytime

6 February 2010 One Comment

AT&T in a press conference has announced that SlingPlayer 3G version is now approved and ready for iTunes. The exclusive iPhone carrier it seems to have got nervous with rumors of losing its iPhone exclusivity and in a bid to calm its critics has finally allowed the app over its 3G network.

SlingPlayer over 3G will enable its users to watch live, streaming TV, as well as DVR recorded programs and movies recorded at home on an iPhone without WiFi connection.

SlingPlayer spoke person in an interview has denied AT&T’s claim that its app has been modified according to the carriers requirements and said “AT&T never discussed any specific requirements with us.”

AT&T has denied SlingPlayer app last year for which critics have complained that the company has been picking and choosing which applications can be used on its wireless network in order to control the market.

AT&T had justified its blockage, because its poor wireless performance is, to an extent, a casualty of the iPhone’s data hungry users. AT&T is now working with developers to make bandwidth friendly apps and hopes to provide its users what they want without demeaning its network.
