iPhone 4.0: Running Behind Android And Meego

Apple iPhone 4.0 with as many as 100 new features and 1500 APIs is according to experts an attempt by Apple to match with other mobile OS already available like Android 2.1 and Maemo 5.
The main features that are included in iPhone 4.0 like multitasking, folders and unified inbox are already there in Android 2.1 and in Maemo 5. Following the foot steps of Android 2.1 based HTC EVO, Apple is even considering adding a front face camera to support video chat in iPhone 4G.
Nokia and Intel collaboration on Meego has surely raised the standards as the features of Linux based Maemo 5 and Moblin will bring together two very powerful mobile Operating Systems, whereas iPhone 4.0 is months behind Maemo 5.
The features of iPhone 4.0 that will bring it in line with Android 2.1 and Meego are:
Multitasking
iPhone 4.0 will introduce multitasking to iPhone users, whereas Android and Maemo 5 based Nokia N900 always had the option for multitasking. Apple may still restrict third party apps from running in the background unlike the Android which lets you multitask just about anything.
Wallpapers
Apple iPhone OS 4.0 now allows users to choose wallpapers to their homescreen something already present in Android with an extra advantage of interactive or live wallpaper.
Folders
The iPhone OS 4.0 now allows users to setup folders where you can store apps, shortcuts and even playlists.
Unified inbox
The new unified Inbox feature of iPhone 4.0 quite late but will help iPhone users to keep up with their personal and corporate email. This new feature already present in Android OS will let iPhone 4.0 users to flag for the corporate emails, mark multiple emails as read or unread, delete, forward and much more.
