MIPS Technologies has announced to design Android-based set-top boxes and netbooks at the CES in Las Vegas this week. A prototype Android IPTV (Internet protocol TV) set-top box will also be shown by MIPS at the show.

With the sales of netbooks expected to double (to 20 million units worldwide) in 2009, and Mac enthusiasts already shoehorning OS X onto existing netbooks, it stands to reason that Apple is paying attention.
