Vonage has launched VOIP calling applications, which enable smartphone users to make international calls for cheaper.
The app is free to download, but an unlimited calling plan costs $24.99 a month. Existing Vonage World customers will save $10 when adding Vonage Mobile, for a total price of $14.99 per month. The new “Vonage World Mobile” VoIP service competes with a $12.95-a-month service from Skype.

The Internet telephony giant Skype is set to release a mobile client for iPhone and iPod touch on Tuesday and also announced a BlackBerry client slated for May.
