To get a working connection between your phone and mac use this trick:

connect usb cable to phone
press voice command button
connect usb cable to computer

You can then hit home so you dont have to worry about voice command doing anything you dont want it to do. Now you can transfer mp3s pictures etc etc.
If for some reason it doesn’t work try this: turn your phone off. remove the battery and leave it out for 1 minute. then …

This is a great, little phone that’s gotten a lot of attention. The features packed in are incredible. Battery life has been great. It’s been over 2 days with me fiddling around with the phone and it’s still at more than 50% battery. The internet is a little slow, so you wouldn’t want to use this phone primarily for that. The camera is pretty good, but it really needs a flash. I’ve seen an older Sony phone that looks very similar to this phone, and that phone had a flash.

What some of the website reviews are missing is the fact you can access the music player and camera while the flip is closed. The touch screen buttons on the external screen work great. It is also nice that the external screen can be locked so nothing is pressed accidentally.

Phone quality is excellent. I did not experience any echoing or static while on calls. Picture and music quality is also great. This phone really can double as a music player. I have never listened to a phone with such great music quality. Even Sony Ericsson’s Walkman line can’t touch it.
